On this occasion and throughout the month Cerrajeria Barajas 24 Horas in Guadalajara and Zapopan we want to focus on articles that really help them, because technical and tedious explanations are of no use because we understand that as clients what they deal with is valuable information that helps them to make the best decision when installing locks or select them instead of information that only manufacturers or professionals in the field may be interested in.
For example, there are several department stores - of which we are not going to mention names because we are not going to give them publicity - in which a great variety of locks are exhibited, but none of the vendors that they have in those stores can explain exactly to you. What they serve or which is the best, they simply limit themselves to giving you the price and telling you that it is a good brand.
As professional locksmiths, we not only know how to make keys or install locks, but we also know exactly what type of work each lock has been designed for. Today we want to talk about the most common lock here in Mexico, our clients refer to it as the "box", but we as locksmiths and manufacturers know it as the 715. What is this? Well, it is the one that exists in most doors and gates in Mexico. (See the beginning image)
They exist in all commercial brands and there may be Right and Left and their design was created for metal or blacksmith doors, with a thickness not less than 3 centimeters, why do we give this information? Because perhaps they may want to sell it to you for a wooden or aluminum door and although it can be adapted, you will have problems with the lock and in reality your security will be a fiasco, because they have not been designed to be installed in that type of materials.
As we have said, this lock has a right side and a left side which is very important for you to know because if you put it backwards, although you can adapt it, as it has not been designed for that side, it will most likely give you problems in the future. It is recommended that you put the plate on the side that should go.
How can you tell? Pay attention, stand on the outside of your door, if your door closes on the left side then the lock that it has is right, again if you stand outside your door and your door closes on the right side, then the lock that you must choose is left.
With this, you can go to a store by yourself, one of these large ones, and go to the hardware department and choose your lock for yourself, remember that it is a model 715.
Remember that at Barajas Locksmith 24 hours in Guadalajara and Zapopan, we are trained professionals to help you choose the correct lock for your door and of course we have an installation service.
